TUE, AUG 30 (Day 1)
The cruise/tour group will meet in Lancaster and then be transferred to the Baltimore International Airport for our flight to Fairbanks, Alaska. We are met on our arrival and taken to our overnight accommodations in Fairbanks.

WED, AUG 31 (Day 2)
Fairbanks, called "The Heart of the Golden North," is Alaska's second largest city. It lies on the Chena River and is in the center of the gold mining region. Architecturally, it is a city of contrasts, with log cabins mixed in among the modern office buildings. This morning, we board the Riverboat Discovery, the last of Alaska's sternwheelers, for a cruise on the Chena and Tanana Rivers and a unique perspective of this city. Also, we will visit an Athabascan village and see a bush pilot demonstration and the kennels of the late Susan Butcher, four-time Iditarod champion. This afternoon we travel by motorcoach to Denali National Park and our overnight accommodations in the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge.

THU, SEP 1 (Day 3)
Today we experience Denali Park on a Tundra Wildlife Tour that takes us deep into the wilderness of the Park. There is a chance we will see moose, grizzly bear, caribou, mountain goats and more. Following this eight-hour tour, the remainder of the day is at your leisure to enjoy your surroundings. Our overnight accommodations are again at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge.

FRI, SEP 2 (Day 4)
The morning is at leisure to explore the town of Denali or travel to the Denali Visitor Center to learn more about this national park. This afternoon, we travel by motorcoach to McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, where we, hopefully, will capture great pictures of North America’s tallest mountain (20,320 ft.), Mt. McKinley. We stay the night in these comfortable accommodations.

SAT, SEP 3 (Day 5)
We are transferred to the rail depot to board our private Dome car, the McKinley Express for an excursion to Whittier. This is luxury rail travel at its best. On a clear day, a view of majestic Mt. McKinley is most impressive as it rises from the vast expanse of the Alaska Range. We'll view breathtaking scenery as we travel south through the Talkeetna Mountains and along the Susitna River, past Anchorage, (Alaska's largest city where over half the population of Alaska lives) to the port city of Whittier, where we board the Coral Princess for our spectacular southbound Inside Passage cruise.

SUN, SEP 4-SAT, SEP 10 (Days 6-12)
For the next week, we cruise the Inside Passage on this fine ship. For more than 30 years, Princess has been the pioneer of luxury Alaska cruises and cruise tours. We'll enjoy meals prepared by master chefs, evenings filled with exciting entertainment, and service you may have thought simply no longer existed. What's more, many of the Princess Cruise captains and their officers are 3rd and 4th generation mariners. You'll never be in more experienced hands than when you sail with Princess. We view spectacular scenery on all sides of the ship as we cruise. Bring your binoculars so you can spot one of the many bald eagles in this area, or possibly a mother bear and her cubs playing on shore. Our cruise for the next seven days takes us by way of the College Fjord, where you'll see plenty of Alaska scenery, including 16 glaciers. Next, we're off to Glacier Bay, boasting the most dramatic and tightly clustered collection of glaciers in Alaska. Then we cruise to Skagway, which, in 1898, was bustling with gold miners hoping to strike it rich. This town still maintains its rustic appearance, much as it was at the turn of the century. Juneau is our next port of call. This is Alaska's capital city, and the ship will offer tours at a nominal fee. You can stroll through Juneau's waterfront and downtown area, or take an optional tour, such as an excursion to Mendenhall Glacier. Our next port is Ketchikan, the salmon capital of the world. Along with fishing, the pulp and lumber industries keep this town alive. We then cruise along the islands and fjords of the British Columbia coast, and into the straits of Georgia. Keep your eyes open for whales and porpoises as we cruise on to Vancouver. On arrival in Vancouver, we are transferred to the airport for our flight home. We have come to the end of this outstanding tour, but the memories will stay with us for a lifetime.

This summer adventure begins in western Maryland with a local "conductor" telling us about the history, culture and spectacular scenery of this Allegheny Mountain region. Our lunch is an old-fashioned Chicken & Ribs BBQ on the shores of Deep Creek Lake. We will be licking our fingers as we enjoy the toe tappin' sounds of the Skillet Lickers. This afternoon, we will browse through the Deep Creek Lake State Park Discovery Center and take a surrey ride along the lake. Next we board our pontoon to see the shoreline from the water. Our captain will tell us all we want to know about this serene lake. Our accommodations for the next two nights are at the Wisp Mountain Resort in McHenry, MD. We arrive late afternoon and have time for dinner and exploring the amenities of this comfortable, welcoming resort. Be sure to bring your swimsuit for a dip in the indoor pool. (L, D)

FRI, AUG 6 (Day 2)
Our morning aboard the New Tygart Excursion Train will afford us more dazzling views of the majestic Allegheny Mountains as we follow the New Tygart River through an "S" curved tunnel, a 1,500 foot deep canyon and across the Cheat River to one of the most pristine settings in the eastern United States at the High Falls of Cheat. Known as "little Niagara", the 18-foot high and 150 foot wide waterfall and its unspoiled surroundings will take your breath away. A delicious, fresh cold cut buffet luncheon will be available on the train for the duration of our time aboard. This afternoon we travel to Canaan Valley for a chairlift ride. We will visit the area's smallest Church and Post Office before returning to the resort for another bountiful meal and a good night of rest. (B, L, D)

We will indulge our sweet tooth this morning at Candyland. They offer an unbelievable selection of sugary delicacies. The next stop is Shallow Falls State Park for a brief, leisurely stroll through beautiful hemlock forest to Muddy Creek Falls, the highest waterfall in Maryland. After a buffet lunch, there will be time to mosey through Spruce Forest Artisan Village. Located on the banks of the Casselman River, this village is home to the living craft tradition in the Allegheny region. Permanent resident artisans open their cabin shops to us, sharing crafts such as metal-smithing, blacksmithing, pottery, loom weaving, bird carving, slate painting and stained glass. Visiting artisans wares may include quilting, collage, woodworking, drawing, printmaking, doll making and various fiber arts. Next we begin our journey homeward. (B, L)
